An international beach football tournament that will be organized during the International contest of young performers "New Wave 2007" is to become a real present for the residents of Jurmala, Riga and guests of Latvia.
In fact, "New Wave" is not a "New Wave" without football. A match at the beach has become an integral part of the festival. It has its fans who come to the beach with cameras and notebooks for autographs beforehand. The final match of the previous year became a real "starry" event. Effective goals to the contestants' gates were made by the General director of the contest Alexander Rumyantsev and producer Alexander Revzin. And Igor Krutoy kicked the penalty that determined the course of the game!
The matches will be held from 27 to 29 of July at Mayory beach next to the way from the "Baltic Beach Hotel" to the beach. This event has an international status. Fans will be able to watch cup series of the "New Wave" from the stands made specially for the event. Entrance is free!
Both professional teams, that consist of participants of international beach football tournaments from different countries, and "starry" players will take part in the tournament. Thus, the audience will witness a really fantastic sight. Not only breathtaking matches, but also meetings with cult figures from the world of art who are in excellent athletic form are awaiting them.
A team consisting of participants of the "New Wave 2007" as well as a team of the "stars" of show business will be competing to get the title of the winners of this fascinating summer game. Two final games will be organized one day before the end of the contest, on July,29. Two professional teams will compete to get the cup of the "New Wave" in one game, whereas a team of Russian and international stars will compete with the contestants of the "New Wave" in the other.
