On August 4, Iris, the second prize winner of the "New Wave 2008" contest and her producer Oleg Chernykh gave a press-conference where the singer spoke about her plans for the future.
"We want to work in Ukraine, Russia and Europe. We'll rock the world! I'll perform as Iris, but I'll try to be absolutely versatile. We are getting the concert tour and the album ready now", the singer said.
Ira Rosenfeld also told about the off-stage life of the participants of the "New Wave" contest. She acknowledged that everyone was very friendly at the contest. "The organizers noted that it was the first time the contestants became such good friends. We always went out together. Don's from Latvia helped me a lot when he found the chain that I had lost. The ballet group that accompanied my performance had actually come with Dyadya Vanya from Belarus."
There were some unpleasant moments at the contest too. The singer explained that she had caught a cold on the final day of the contest because she had been walking from the hotel to the concert hall wet-haired. Hairdressers ask everyone to come wet-haired to make a hairdo, no wonder I caught a cold", the girl complained.
Iris declared that she wished to represent Ukraine at other song contests, but the singer has not considered participating in the "Eurovision" song contest yet.
