The press- conference with the legendary musician Robin Gibb and the brilliant singer Valeria, producer Josef Prigozhin and Director General of the Contest Alexander Rumyantsev took place in Jurmala SPA hotel on the 27th of July.
Valeria and Robin Gibb, performing during the Gala- Concert on the 28th of July, shared their emotions about the common work. Mr Gibb stressed attention on the talent, brilliant vocal and charisma of Valeria. " Personalities make the music". Noted the grand musician.- If you ask me how do I evaluate the image of Valeria as " Russian Madonna", we can also speak about " American Valeria"! Comparisons and stereotypes in the art are not needed."
" It is a great pleasure to work with Robin he is a grand person and musician. He inspired me with his vital philosophy and a simple human attitude towards everything. Robin is a harmonious person, he does not have to play any roles. He is absolutely precise- both in life and in art. Moreover he has a great sense of humor!"- told Valeria.

According to Robin Gibb`s opinion the main aspect in art is human emotions: " In childhood we never thought of becoming the "classics of genre ". We were just working. Once I asked my father, the great pianist, why he is composing his songs. He answered, that he can interpret the song, heard on the radio, but he can never compose the same. So we wanted to learn how to write beautiful songs, in which lyrical aspect, lyrics and the melody are the main aspects. Not to follow the fashion, but to write 40 years in advance- this is the advice of our mentor."

Josef Prigozhin underlined the uniqueness of the " New Wave" Contest, which during the past seven years is keeping surprising by the diversity of genres and the magnificent level of guests and contestants.
Alexander Rumyatsev concluded the press-conference, expressing the though of the majority, present in the press-room: " We all should understand, that we are currently talking to the " musical legend", Robin Gibb, the founder and the participant of the band " Bee Gees", that has become a real music icon for many of us. And this is great!"
