The President of Latvia, Valdis Zatlers received in the President`s Palace in Riga delegation of the organizers of the " New Wave" Competition. The delegation contained national artist of Russia, composer Igor Krutoy, Latvian composer and co-chairman of the Contest Raimonds Pauls, grand Russian singer Elena Obraztsova, singer Laima Vaikule, director Fedor Bondarchyuk, Director General of the Contest Alexander Rumyantsev, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Contest Alexander Shenkman, President of the Publishing House Alexander Sheinin.
The President of Latvia noticed the importance of the" New Wave " Contest in the development of cultural cooperation between the countries and nations. Moreover, the guests thanked the President and the Government of Latvian Republic for the help in organization of the Contest. The President wished the contestants and guests of the Contest creative achievements and pleasant stay in Latvia. The guests expressed their hope , that thanks to the support of the Government the Contest will keep and even improve its high level of organization and professionalism.
