A football match took place on a Jurmala beach called Mayori at 11 a.m. on 29 July. The audience awaits the appearance of contestants and stars on the impromptu football field impatiently every year. This exciting sporting event has been held as a part of the contest since the “New Wave” was organized for the first time. Traditionally, a team of contestants plays with a team of the members of the jury. This year the players went on a special beach football field with tribunes around it.
The participants were dressed in yellow uniform, with their names written on it, whereas the colour of the stars’ uniform was blue. After a hard struggle jury members won the game 6:1, Valeria, Valery Meladze, General Director of the contest Alexander Rumayntsev and other members of the team were happy to show the victory cup to the audience. Igor Krutoy, who had a birthday on 29 July, was watching the game from a tribune. “Donetsky shakhter” football club representatives awarded a T-shirt with a symbol of the club to Igor Krutoy between the first and the second time.
