One of these days there was a hearing of the candidates for the “New Wave -2004” Competition. It took place on the stage of the Russian entertaining centre “Metelica”. Four participants, namely Svetlana Shvilpe, Tatiana Timchuk, Madara and Janet, represented the country of Latvia.
The Competition “New Wave” which unit every year the most bright and popular Russian and foreign stars will again take place in Jurmala. In the near future, you will be able to know the names of young performers who will compete for the main prize. As many as 79 performers participated in the semi-final part which took place in the centre “Metelica”. According to the organizers, young artists from Norway, Armenia, Germany, the USA, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Dagestan, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia came to Moscow especially for this occasion. 
Young performers were estimated by Arkadii Ukupnik (composer and performer), Nadejda Babkina (popular Russian artist), Tigran Keosan (stage manager), Maks Fadeev (producer), Igor Krutoi (composer), Vladimir Mateckii (composer), Igor Nikolaev (composer). Aleksandr Revzin, the stage manager of the Competition, frequently repeated that the participants should have had a spark in the eyes. By this time the names of those who have passed ahead are not known, but the organizers pledge to reveal this mystery in the near future.
